Osmussaar hiking trail

Osmussaar is known for its fascinating nature and settlement history. For centuries, the island was home to coastal Swedes. After the Second World War, Osmussaar was a closed border zone and home to a Soviet military unit.

There is a 9 km marked RMK hiking trail with campfire sites on the island. The trail starts at the southern port of the island and heads northwest.

The local landscape is interesting thanks to the limestone bluff, breccia boulders, vast shingle areas, and junipers. On the north-western tip of the island, there is a striped reinforced concrete lighthouse built in 1954, which can be visited.
